Choosing the right size
Diameters are measured across the top rim; the flat base is usually 3 to 5 cm (1–2″) smaller. Match the base to your hob ring or zone. On an induction hob, check that induction is listed under Hob types: a magnet sticks firmly to a base that works on induction.
A pot, a high-sided pan and a frying pan
- Deep pot, 23 cm: two looped side handles, for soups, stews and pasta, with its own glass lid
- High-sided pan, 25 cm: straighter, deeper sides for sauces and braising, with its own glass lid
- Frying pan, 20 cm: low, flared sides for eggs and searing
- Lids: clear glass with a metal rim; the pot's lid has a looped metal handle, the pan's a round knob
- Handles: long, slim metal handles on the pans with a hanging hole at the end
The cooking surfaces are bright hammered metal, not a dark non-stick coating: heat the pan before adding oil or butter. The handles are metal and get hot on the hob, so keep a cloth or oven glove to hand.

- Wash the pieces by hand in warm, soapy water before the first use.
- Dry them straight after washing.
- Preheat a pan before adding oil, and let it cool before it goes into water.

Is it non-stick? The cooking surface is bare hammered metal with no dark non-stick coating. Preheat the pan and use a little oil or butter.
Which pieces have lids? The 23 cm pot and the 25 cm high-sided pan each come with a glass lid. The 20 cm frying pan is sold without one.
