An eight-piece matcha set built around a 550 ml drip-glazed ceramic bowl with a pouring lip, with a bamboo whisk, holder, scoop, spoon, sieve and cloth.
Brewing at home
A stovetop espresso pot sits on the hob: check that your hob type is listed under Heat source, and on an induction hob that a magnet sticks firmly to the base. Capacity is given in cups of about 50 ml (1.7 fl oz) for espresso pots and in millilitres for pour-over servers and teapots. Rinse with warm water after use and let every part dry apart.
A glazed bowl with room to whisk
- Bowl: 550 ml ceramic bowl, 15.5 cm across and 6.5 cm deep, with a pouring lip
- Glaze: a streaked drip glaze in rose, blue or yellow, so no two bowls look quite alike
- Whisk: bamboo whisk with fine tines, about 6 x 11.4 cm, delivered in a clear case
- Holder: ceramic whisk holder, about 7 x 6 cm, that keeps the tines in shape while it dries
- Tools: a long bamboo scoop for measuring the powder, a bamboo spoon and a steel mesh sieve
- Extras: a small ceramic spoon rest and a cloth printed with an ink-wash landscape
The set is sold by bowl colour; choose rose, blue or yellow in the menu. The bowl is wide and shallow enough to whisk in a W motion, and the lip lets you pour into a cup. Matcha powder is not included.

Care and cleaning
Rinse the whisk in warm water straight after use and stand it on its holder so the tines dry in shape. Wash the bowl, sieve and spoons by hand and dry them before putting the set away.
Frequently asked questions
Is matcha powder included? No. The set holds the tools and the bowl; the powder is bought separately.
Does each colour look exactly like the photos? The glaze runs during firing, so the streaks and the spread of colour vary a little from bowl to bowl.
Are all three bowls in the group photo included? No. The set has one bowl in the colour you choose. The group photo shows the three glazes side by side.
