Choosing the right size
Diameters are measured across the top rim; the flat base is usually 3 to 5 cm (1–2″) smaller. Match the base to your hob ring or zone. On an induction hob, check that induction is listed under Hob types: a magnet sticks firmly to a base that works on induction.
Five pans, one lid and a board
- Frying pans, 25 cm: two of them, for eggs, steak and anything seared; one comes with its glass lid
- High-sided pans, 20 and 25 cm: straighter, deeper sides for sauces, shallow frying and braising
- Wok, 25 cm: deep, sloping sides for stir-frying
- Cutting board, 36 x 25 cm: a flat metal board with a raised rim and a cut-out handle slot
- Handles: long, slim metal handles with a hanging hole at the end
- Lid: clear glass with a metal rim, a metal knob and a steam hole
The cooking surfaces are bright hammered metal, not a dark non-stick coating: heat the pan before adding oil or butter. The handles are metal and get hot on the hob, so keep a cloth or oven glove to hand.

Care and cleaning
- Wash the pans and board by hand in warm, soapy water before the first use.
- Dry them straight after washing.
- Preheat a pan before adding oil, and let it cool before it goes into water.

Is it non-stick? The cooking surface is bare hammered metal with no dark non-stick coating. Preheat the pan and use a little oil or butter.
Which pan has a lid? One of the two 25 cm frying pans comes with a glass lid. The other pans are sold without one.
How big is the cutting board? It measures 36 x 25 cm (14.2 x 9.8″) and has a cut-out slot at one end to lift and hang it.
