Choosing the right size

Diameters are measured across the top rim; the flat base is usually 3 to 5 cm (1–2″) smaller. Match the base to your hob ring or zone. On an induction hob, check that induction is listed under Hob types: a magnet sticks firmly to a base that works on induction.

Clear glass from the hob to the table

Let the pot cool before you wash it, and avoid pouring cold water into it while it is hot. Wash it with warm soapy water and a soft sponge.

Can I use it on an induction hob? No. Glass is not magnetic, so an induction hob will not heat it. It suits gas, electric and ceramic hobs.

How much does it hold? About 1.35 litres to the rim, so about two bowls of soup.

Do the handles stay cool? No. The handles are glass and heat up with the pot; use oven gloves.
